Marisol is a married to the local blacksmith until one fateful day when her brother, Geramine, kills him for the abuse she has suffered. On the run from the Guards, they begin a journey together to escape imprisonment or possible death themselves.
Jarak is a warrior of the Raedjour, a race of dark elves living in a forest that had been protected by their Goddess. The Raedjour are highly sexual beings and resisting them is almost impossible. Jarak is the leader of the small group that find Marisol and Geriman after their capture by a band of Rogues.

Fleeing the home were they live, the siblings end up in a small town where they are warned that traveling through the Dark Forest would be paramount to signing their own death warrant. Those that go into it are usually never to be seen again. They have to take that chance and are captured by a group of the dark beings that they were warned about. During their capture they are sexually pleasured almost to the point of death until one night they are rescued and taken to the Raedjour city to try and heal them. While living among the Raedjour, Marisol comes to realize her attraction to Jarak is much more than just lust, but is the feeling mutual?

Although this is the fourth book in the series, the way it is written with details, it stands alone so very well that the story could be read without reading the others. The mention of the other characters in the book makes me want to go and find out their stories. The book drew me into the world of the raedjour and I became involved with the characters in the story and immersed myself completely in their world. The attraction between Marisol and Jarak is there but slow to come to fruition due to the unusual circumstances that brought them together. The sexual scenes are not only hot and steamy but show tenderness between the participating characters. A bonus during the reading is the wonderful artwork included by the author. I really do hope that there will be another story coming about her Dark Elves and their lives.
